These terms cover the StashBase desktop app, the built-in Default Agent, and this website, all provided by StashBase Inc. By using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
The app is open source
The app's source code is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. That license governs your right to use, copy, modify and distribute the code, and nothing on this page limits it.
Provided as is
StashBase is early software. Features change, break and are sometimes removed. The app, the Default Agent and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Your files and backups
StashBase works on the folders you open, and the agents you run in it can create, edit and delete files there. You are responsible for keeping backups and for reviewing an agent's changes before you rely on them. We are not responsible for lost or damaged files.
AI output
Agents make mistakes. Text produced by Claude Code, Codex or the Default Agent can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. You are responsible for checking it, and for what you publish or do based on it. Nothing the app or an agent produces is legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
Third-party services
StashBase connects to services we do not run: Claude Code and Anthropic, Codex and OpenAI, OpenRouter, DeepSeek behind the Default Agent, GitHub for downloads and updates, and Discord for the community. Your use of each is governed by that provider's own terms, and any charges from them are yours. We are not responsible for their availability, their output or what they do with your data. The privacy page says what is sent where.
Default Agent and accounts
The Default Agent's free credits are offered at our discretion. We may change, limit, suspend or end them at any time, and we do not promise the service will be available. Do not resell access, automate it to get around limits, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.
Website content
Blog posts, docs and comparisons here are general information. Facts about other products were checked on the dates shown and may have changed since, so confirm anything that matters with the vendor. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners, and mentioning a product does not mean we are affiliated with it or that it endorses us.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, StashBase Inc. and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits or business interruption, arising from your use of the app, the Default Agent or this website. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it. Some places do not allow some of these limits; there, they apply only as far as the law permits.
Changes
We may update these terms, and the date at the top shows the latest version. Using StashBase after a change means you accept the updated terms.
