Is StashBase free?
The app is. It is free and open source under Apache 2.0, and writing with your own Claude Code or Codex costs nothing extra. Default Agent, which runs on StashBase’s hosted model gateway, needs Plus or Pro.
I already pay for Claude. Do I need Plus or Pro?
No. Claude Code and Codex run on the Anthropic or ChatGPT account you already have, and StashBase adds nothing on top. Plus and Pro are for writing with Default Agent, when you have neither.
How do I subscribe to Plus or Pro?
In the app. Download StashBase, sign in, and choose Plus or Pro there; payment goes through Stripe.
What happens when my monthly credits run out?
Default Agent pauses until your credits renew, or you can move from Plus to Pro. Browsing, editing, keyword search and Claude Code or Codex keep working.
