Frequently asked questions

Is this X reply writer free?

Yes. You can write replies 2 times a day with no account, three replies each time. Sign in with Google, still free, for 10 a day. A try that fails does not count. Your take can be up to 500 characters, and the tweet you reply to up to 2,000, enough for a whole pasted thread.

Why do I have to write a take? Can't it just read the tweet?

A reply written from the tweet alone can only agree with it or restate it, and "Great point!" is the reply everyone scrolls past. The take is what you think: that it is wrong, what it misses, what happened when you tried it. One line is enough. The replies say that, sharper or shorter, and never a different opinion.

What is the box for my own tweets?

Paste two or three tweets you wrote and the replies pick up how you write: how long you run, your punctuation, your habits. It is a small taste of the Custom persona in the StashBase app, which works out your voice from your own past posts and keeps it for everything you write. Nothing from those tweets is used as a fact unless your take brings it up.

Will it make things up?

It is told to take every fact from the tweet, your take and your own tweets: no invented numbers, names, results or quotes, and to add no detail your take does not give. A model can still slip, so read the reply against the tweet before you post it.

What is the difference between Standard and High quality?

Standard runs on Claude Sonnet 5 and is quick, which suits most replies. High quality runs on Claude Opus 5.5, which thinks before it writes: slower, and worth it when the take is subtle or the tweet is long. Either one counts as one use.

Can I quote-tweet instead of replying?

Yes. When you fetch the tweet by its link, each reply has a Reply on X link and a Quote instead link, and both open X with the text filled in. If you pasted the tweet's text instead, there is no tweet for X to attach it to, so copy the reply and post it yourself.

Some tweets won't fetch. What do I do?

Paste the text. A protected or deleted tweet cannot be read, and some things you reply to are not a tweet link at all, like a screenshot. Describe it in the box in your own words and the replies answer that.

I already use Claude. Do I need this?

Not necessarily. If you pay for Claude, you can paste the tweet and your take into a chat and ask for replies; this page saves you writing the prompt, gives you the voices to switch between, and runs on Claude at no cost to you. Where a chat falls short is your own material: past posts, drafts and notes in files on your computer. StashBase is a free, local-first writing workspace where Claude Code or Codex works beside those files, so what you write can draw on what you have already written.

Are the tweet and my take stored?

No. The tweet, your take and your own tweets go through our Cloudflare Worker to Anthropic's Claude API, which writes the replies. The Worker logs lengths and the tokens used, never the text. See our privacy policy.
